Victoria, the capital
city of British Columbia, is situated on the southern tip of Vancouver
Island and is popular tourist destination.
Known as Canada's
'Best Blooming City', springtime in Victoria finds the streets lined with

First established
as a Hudson's Bay Company fort, Victoria preserves its past in it's museums
and historic buildings. The area is now a centre for shipping, commerce,
tourism, culture, and sport. It is also boasts one of British Columbia's
main universities, the University of Victoria.
 Access:
Victoria is Mile 0 of the Trans Canada Highway. Located at the southern
tip of Vancouver Island, it can be reached only by ferry from the BC mainland.
Commercial airline and bus service is available as is the urban bus line.
Access to a variety of areas around Vancouver Island and BC's Gulf Islands
is provided by various cruise and charter operations based in Victoria.
